Decide to Change and Take Action on Your Decision

You’re almost ready to get moving and start your transformation journey. In the last week, you’ve accomplished many things which will lay the groundwork for your success in the future.

  1. Set some purposeful goals which will inspire you to the finish line when your motivation is low.
  2. Established your starting point by measuring your stats and taking a fit test.
  3. Learned how to track your nutrition habits.
  4. Cleared out all the crap in your life that could hold you back from succeeding.
  5. Found a workout partner to help keep you accountable to your fitness and nutrition goals.
  6. Began making time to workout by scheduling them in your busy calendar.

Your New Life Starts Now

You are now well-armed with the tools you will need to start your fitness transformation.  There’s only one thing left to do: Make a Decision.

Decide to be changeIf you’re really SERIOUS about transforming your body and your life, you must DECIDE to do something about it. At this moment, if I’ve done my job, you may feel pretty pumped up about living up to the promises you’ve been making to yourself to get the body of your dreams. Time for a reality check.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch. Your results will be in proportion to the effort you invest in yourself. If you’re not getting the results you want, take a hard look at your level of effort. Are you throwing everything on the floor when you work out? Or are you cruising? You can learn to work out more efficiently, but there are no shortcuts to effort and intensity. Even great workout programs such as P90X and Insanity are merely tools. You must still do the work. The programs will show you how, when, why, and what, but you’re the one who must put some muscle behind the program.

When you take your first steps on your transformation journey, you must use your willpower and personal discipline. You will be highly motivated in the beginning. Use this motivation to set good personal routines so that they later become habit. These habits will keep you going even when motivation ebs. These habits are your gateway to a new and better life with a transformed you on the other side. With each step the next one becomes easier while your confidence grows and you start building momentum. You might, like me, make mistakes along the way, but the only way to fail on this journey is for you to quit. How many things in life come with such a guarantee? You will succeed as long as you keep trying.

Everything Starts with a Decision

difference between who you are and who you want to beWant to know what the secret to getting started is? YOU DECIDE and YOU take the first step. I’m talking about a real decision, not a daydream. A real decision is backed with a gameplan, concrete action, and a real commitment to see it through. A person who has made a real decision leaves no room for any other outcome than the one in which he or she has decided. No excuses. No wishy-washiness. No daydreaming. If you’re still finding yourself saying, “I’ll give this a try,” then you haven’t really made a decision to change. On the other hand, if you can only see one outcome in your mind’s eye–the total transformation of your body and health with no other possibilities but success—then you have made a decision.

This winner’s credo should be tattooed into your mind: “You can either get results or make excuses, but you can’t do both.” When you feel like you can’t push any harder, think of this: “Limitations are for those who have them; excuses are for those who need them.” There are no limitations, just plateaus.
