P90X Success Story of Extreme Weight Loss
Jeremy’s amazing P90X success story is another one about extreme weight loss. I wrote about Richard Neale’s extreme P90X results here. Jeremy started his P90X journey at 375 pounds. This number is only an estimate because the maximum weight that home scales can read don’t go beyond 350 pounds. In total, Jeremy dropped over 175 pounds during his body transformation. He did this through incredible persistence and a huge dose of consistency.
I don’t know what possessed a person in Jeremy’s condition to even attempt a program such as P90X. The program was designed for people who are already fit, but want to get to the next level. I really have to give mad props to Jeremy for his achievement. He showed more grit and determination than 99% of people I know. He also had superhuman patience because it didn’t all happen for him overnight. He went through six rounds of P90X in order to lose that much weight. Six rounds of P90X in case you’re wondering is eighteen months. He started off not being able to do any of the jumping exercises in the program because it’s not easy to launch 375 pounds into the air. Whatever he could do, he did. Whatever he couldn’t, he modified. Instead of jumping jacks, Jeremy marched in place.
To really see how far Jeremy has come, Check him out in P90X2 Balance and Power. He was one of the fitness demonstrators in this workout. He actually crushed Tony in one of his own exercises with a stability ball. That was pretty fun to watch.
Finding Your Personal “WHY?” Is the Key to P90X Success
How did Jeremy find the motivation to make the transformation from grossly obese to ripped? With the power of one simple question. A friend asked him if he was worried that another man would have to raise his kids. In Jeremy’s physical state, this question was not a hypothetical. It had real meaning. Jeremy saw the full implication of his unhealthy life staring at him. So he started to make a list of all the reasons why he should change his life and all the reasons why not. Not surprisingly, the “yes” list filled up almost two pages while the “no” list barely amounted to a single paragraph.
Jeremy understood that he was sacrificing all the things he wanted in life, such as sticking around to raise his children and being a good husband, for the things that had no consequence. Checking out of life and gorging on bad food didn’t seem like such a great deal when compared to all the things he could gain if he started taking better care of himself. Jeremy said something that really stuck with me: “You can give up just one hour each day to workout, and the remaining 23 hours you can live three times as much life.” Truth.
The rest is history. After Jeremy lost all the weight, he became a Team Beachbody coach so he could help others achieve their own health and fitness transformation. I think it was Jeremy who coached Richard Neale through losing over 200 pounds. Now Richard is doing the same–paying it forward by helping others. This is what it means to be part of the Team Beachbody network—people helping other people reach their goals and find their dreams. Beachbody’s products work if you follow them, but sometimes you just need someone to help you along when you have a hard time seeing the light. Sometimes you need a kick in the ass!
